Here are 3 marbles, with similar characteristics.
The large one is 13/16", has a transparent green base with opaque light blue, "flame" and line.
This marble appears to have an area that looks like it's a melted pontil.
The marble on bottom left seems to be made in the same way. It has a transparent darker green base with light blue opaque flames and is 5/8". Those 2 look like ribcages.
The marble on the lower right, looks newer and doesn't have the sturnam form like the other 2.
However, something about the way the opaque glass, "flames", out reminds me of the other 2 marbles.
I'm guessing that Alley made the last one.

I've had a few that remind me a little of yours, although yours has an excellent "skeletal" structure. Mine just kind of look like "broken bones". hehe

Dustin, there was a time that I might've had this one in with the "Euros", but I have to agree with Galen that these are probably Alley. It seems that every one that I've had, came in groups without any other Euros. The one that I posted above, came in this group of American made mibs. I know that's not necessarily indicative of their origin, but it's another clue.

Hey I have one like your bottom left one Patry. Only mine is blue. I thought mine looked like a spider or a bug or something so I put it aside. Wonder where it went? I figured Alley for it at the time if I remember correctly.
Your bigger one could be Euro IMHO it has that tight "wrapped" Wirepull look to me. Or as some call them Transparent Euro Flames. I have never seen a Wirepull in the 13/16" size though? Generally they are bigger or smaller. Anyone? I am pretty sure I have sold the Euro opaque swirls (the ones with the nice colours) in 13/16" size in the past. Don't know what sizes Alley made? |

I picked up 2 like this in the same lot from a while back, and they became some of my fav machine mades. Similar flame-type pattern on one side, square tongue-type seam on one (like the green, purple, blue shown) but the other has a distinct "c" cut-off seam, with a bit of debris.
Hello All, first post here and looks like I need to find out how to host pictures.[/list] |
