Champion made soem red white and blue swirls in mid 1970s but they don't look like Liz's - hers are older than that. people used to say those were older Champion Agates from 1940s or early 1950s. But other companies also made similar styles.
My house is still a mess or I would take come pictures.

Don, I agree.........it does #^% but apparently it will slow down/stop the spammers that have been afflicting many boards with Spam/Porn, etc.!
Trying to figure out if there's a way to make exceptions...........but haven't found anything yet. Here's a "work-around" solution though.

Liz, I think that some of the older ones have more of a wandering pattern (caligaphic), with thinner striping glass, (pic1) while some are swirls with thicker striping glass so the colors look darker (pic2). Some I've found are really washed out (pic3). Here's two others that I suspect (from the colors and patterns) are the same type. All the marbles shown here are old (1950's). ... Roger

I am still not 100% on all these red/white/blue swirls. But i can narrow some down a bit. If you have a Jackson red/white/blue it will glow. All of these that i have ever seen, the white or creme white WILL GLOW under a blacklight. This is the same white or creme they used for the red/white only, some of the more dull blue/white only, etc. The cullet used was a creme color vitrolite and it all glowed. It is more of a creme or dirty white.
Speaking of white,i have some Ravenswoods that i will put up against any CA as for being pure white or snow white. I have some and seen a few Alleys the same way. I think the more pure white, snow white or bright white, may be the older marbles, when some were made from raw materials and less cullet. Yes Ravenswood made glass marbles from raw ingredients,in the beginning.
browse4antiques 2nd pic are either Ravenswood or older Champions.
I agree Don,s pics are Champion and early to mid 70,s. Here is some problems with these, they have been dug at the Pennsboro Alley site, with only other Alley marbles. Yes Champion and Alley sites are close and get mixed but these have been found with only other old Alleys. I have also seen them in Buddy boxes and were also some dug at the Ravenswood site. But these were all bright red/white/blue,only. If you notice some of the ones in Dons pics the red goes to a little more brown and some the red goes a little to orange. I have never seen this in any with connection from Alley or Ravenswood. Did Champion copy them that well ?????
One of the most produced color combos for Ravenswood was suppose to have been red/white/blue.
Champion has made two or three different red/white/blues.
Still more to sort out on the red/white/blues. Cannot give it all away yet.
Tired finger and head.
We can blame Lizzy for this, she knows how to get me started.

Ron is right..............I bug him unmercifully with questions............to the point that I feel bad about it sometimes. Especially now that he's moved and his internet access is more restricted than it used to be (not to mention how busy he's been with all these things).
I consider Ron like one of our "national treasures". There aren't that many folks out there that are as familiar with WV glass/marbles/history as he is.............and of the few that are, he's one of the few that takes the time to share it with us.
So...........Ron, any time that you can share with us is much appreciated and I know that I don't just speak for myself!
Now, onto the R, W & B's that I posted...... I hit them with a UV light and the off-white glows a dim, murky looking color......but nothing like the fluorescent green/yellow that you get from Vaseline glass. When you say that the Jackson marbles glow because of the Vitrolite glass, you are talking about the bright *glow*, right?
Ron, I'm going to send you a couple of these. _________________ Lizzy

Speaking of Red White and Blue WVS.........I kinda regret that I sold this one awhile back.....A 21/32" Ravenswood and a far cry from the Champ bicentennial swirls.....Nice subtle blends of red white and powder blue on a dark green transparent matrix. An unusual trait for this marble is the “nine” pattern in the swirls
