Vitro Agate is a company that has been overlooked by many collectors but recently has been gaining in poplularity. Within each of the major Vitro types there are some spectacular and rare varieties. Below are some pics of color based Conquerors. The light green, and light blue are uncommon, the teal and cobalt blue are rare, and the red, peach, and lavender are very rare. If you have some, post away!!!!!

here is a group of some of my transparent color-based Conquerors. all these are at least hard to find:

L to R, top row: first one has a dark-orange (almost red) base (it has a few dings but it’s the only one i have with this color):

next in line has a yellow base; the next one is a greenish-yellow; next is dark green-based.

row 2: left one i got from Galen. this is a rare one—the only one i’ve ever seen with a dark purple base—it is so dark it was a pain to get back-lit, so sorry for the blurry pics, but they will give you an idea of the base color:

next 4 in row 2 are either greenish-yellow or various shades of green.
bottom 2 rows are mostly cobalt blue-based or a lighter blue.
i suppose one could classify the far right one in row 3 as being teal.

most people haven't developed much of an interest in Conquerors. i think as a general rule, they're not all that, but there are the rare ones and the ones that are truly striking--ya just hafta look!

Here are some that I *think* fall into that catagory... The last one appears to have dark green base glass.. it backlights a pretty red.

I really like the variety in the color based Conquerors. It almost seems as though they were "painted on".......making them one-of-a-kind types. (of course, I know they weren't. Wink)

Lots of great examples on this page of harder-to-find Conquerors!

Tx, the 4th marble down in your post.............it looks similar to this one that I've got. (Does it look like the same type to you?)

When I posted it on one of the boards a couple of years ago, everyone said Pelt Rainbo. Wonder if it's really Vitro or Pelt? hmmmmmm...................

Lizzy,
Yours looks very similar, however I think there is a critical difference. The colors on yours look like blended multiple ribbons and the colors on mine are 2 distinct patch-stripes. I would lean towards a Peltier ID on yours.

Tx, I see the difference in yours and mine now.

By any chance, is yours the same type (or maybe the same marble) as the one that's showing in your group photo, 12:00 position? If so, it looks Vitroid in that pic. Laughing

Lizzy,
Yes, its the same marble. These are soooooo hard to photograph. The slightest change in light or angle can make them look completely different.
