I wonder if the Uranium was taken out of production because it was considered to be a hot potato, that is, the military would want to control who had the stuff and how it was being used. Or maybe it was, like tungsten, needed for the war effort.
I've got a newer Vacor that has the vasaline glass. It glows big time. It looks like it was rolled in crystaline material. It has to be for show, as it would not roll a very straight line. _________________ Don't Tread On Me |

These Uranium based handmades are really early marbles, they have highly facetted pontils, so I would date them around 1850-1860. And they were made in Germany. |

Sometimes I found uranium oxide also in German machien-made swirls as well,only trouble is i can't take good blacklight pictures.
