At 3/4", this shooter is a nice opaque green, with an opaque swirl outlined with a translucent clear and green glass that almost looks like a bluish color. I am thinking Alley Agate Company. Anyone agree?

Looks more Jabo to me. The wispy colors say it. Most large Allies have nice dense distinct 2 color patterns. A base color and 1 striping color.

I don't rightly recall a 3/4" with this color amongst the Jabos but I could be wrong. Definitely not during the Experimental cycle. Maybe pre-2008. I maybe could find something much like this amongst my 1990s Jabos but tying it down to 3/4" eliminates a lot of possibilities. They were largely 5/8 back then for the classic runs with only occasional 3/4" runs. David

I have been franticly searching for a post that I read recently--can't remember which site though. It had a nice series of photos of two boxes of Jabo's. The lids were clear plastic with the Jabo label or emblem across it. I could be wrong on the emblem part. I seem to remember that they were a special run of marbles. One of them looked like this marble. I don't know what size they were. Maybe that will help? On second thought, it might have been Vacor? My mind is gone, I have lost my marbles. No short term memory.

You probably saw the sets like this that also had JABO across the front. They are 5/8" And realizing the mib is 3/4 does make me feel it may be a different maker but it does not look like any definite one to me. There were literally thousands of color combos on the jabos as cullet was used and the colors changed as they got hotter cooler etc. For example red didn't always stay red from the beginning to the end of a run. and as different colors were added all sorts of combos resulted. I doubt anyone could ever come close to getting all the color combos of jabo classics. There are some major varieties in each run. These sets are a good example of that. Although they are just a minor example of all the types.

Galen, that is very close to what I think was in that post. The marbles were a different selection of colors though---opaque greens and blues along with other colors not red or yellow. Thanks for looking for me!

I was just showing the box type. There were many varieties that were packaged.

The Marble Mansion name on that lid range the bell for me. That was the box I was looking at that had almost identical light green opaque and white like my marble. Thanks again! I think that is the end of it.

I got to looking and believe I may have an ID for this thread.

First, those in that Mansion box are 5/8". That was stressed and what we're talking about here is a 3/4" marble.

I'm not saying that this is a positive ID because as was also mentioned the color combinations and mixes were so diverse that most anything is possible but there are amongst the 2005 Jabo 3/4" marbles very close examples to the pic posted here either in color or in pattern or in combination of color and pattern.

That's probably about as close to anything I'm going to say about this marble. In so many cases it's a crap shoot and Jabos just confound the situation. If you were ever to see Dale Simmons extensive collection of Jabos from ALL the runs you would surely give up the Ghost!

David, I am glad that you probably have seen the same marble-type that I saw but can't re-find what post or what site. I do know it was a picture of two boxed sets of Jabo's with clear plastic lids with similar graphics as the Marble Mansion. I didn't miss the 5/8" measurement in Galen's post--was only using those particular types of swirly marbles that were similar to what I saw. I think it is best for all that in the future, I refrain from posting any vague or mis-leading information. It really just muddies up the thread and adds no value to the topic of discussion. Lesson learned. I seem to get myself in the most trouble with the larger marbles. I have a few that I know are not Jabo or Vacor, and I have some that I think are Jabo or Vacor. The good news for me at least, is that there seems to be enough interest and appreciation for any type of marble.
