I had a fantastic time at the Vegas marble show...saw a lot of fantastic marbles that I dont normally get to see (everyone must go to at least one marble show!!!). The people were so friendly and the "in room trading" was very exciting. I told myself I was going to take a boat load of pictures but didnt really get a chance to do that. However I did take photos of my in room set-up. This year I came equipped with track lighting for my display which worked out very well.
Here are some of the marbles I purchased at the show, starting with a very nice CAC swirl
The ever elusive and long sought after Peltier NLR Blue Bee with blue aventurine
Heres a nice Akro Sparkler
Check out this wicked Alley orange flame
And yet two more wicked flame/swirls (note that the nice greyish one here in the middle is what I refer to as a "caligraphy" style swirl).
Look at the green based Pearlized Patch. Thanx to the person I traded a few marbles with, I now have a tan based, a blue based and now a green based Pearlized Patch
Couldnt resist this Champion Furnace Burn.....what a beauty!!
Heres a wonderful raffle prize I won during the middle of the show (5/8")........I was totally shocked when my ticket was called!!...Thanx Dani
Heres a very nice 11/16" brick, a hard to find red opalescent rainbo. Ive collected the yellow ones like these for years and only have 4 of them and last but not least a nice "blue and green" Alley swirl. (15% chance Ravenswood)
Speaking of Ravenswood....I got a cool box of Ravenswoods with cobalt blue/tan and green/tan Swirls with some other hard to find Ravenswoods......also a box of Kick azz Champions......look at the blow-up showing the green, tan, peach and olive Colored champ (from the second box)
Finally got a chance to score that giant Akro experimental (anyone have the cork to match?)......last pic shows a couple of corks and a smaller Patch with the same colors (for comparison)
Here we have a vial of miniatures from Bo Stiff....Look at the detail Bo put in those miniatures..... last pic shows the detail and the hard work that went in the popeyes, wasps, golden rebels, supermen and the many different swirls......some of these marbles are 1/16"....Thanx Bo, the miniatures are cool, but I really shoulda got that green based oxblood you were offering.....maybe next year.....
This is just a teaser of some of the marbles.....Most of them, I havent even photographed yet.....hope you enjoy! _________________ -Chuck Jr.

Great pics, Chuck. Makes me even more sorry that I couldn't make it this year. Glad to hear that Bo was there - hope he is doing okay. |

Thanks for sharing those beauties,I like that red CAC swirl.
Think I've a weakness for red swirls cause I can't hardly found them here.

Great scores Chuck, those are awesome. I especially like the Ravenswoods! You got some very cool color combinations in there! _________________ Mike

Thanks Chris, here is a pic of one of the HTF yellow ones that Ive been collecting for awhile now. Correction, thanks to Catfish I have five of them.
They sure do look good with the opalescent based glass.....now if i could just find some blue ones that would be fantastic

Hey there Chuck Jr.,
Thanks for the super show report. Looks like the IMAC put on another great show in Vegas.
Speaking of great shows-
Those were some darn nice pictures you posted.
No kiddin'. Perfect lighting, interesting composition and super-duper detail.
You can actually see the "Pearl" in the green pearlized patch. The sparkler pics really caught my eye too.
You did a Nice Job all around.
Thanks again,

hey Chuck Jr, thanks for sharing.
great pics.
the idea of track lighting was brilliant( motel/hotel rooms never have enough light to examine marbles)
sweet haul you made and the sparkler is KILLA

Wow! Nice haul Chuck! Lovin lots of those that you took home with you. I remember the opalescent yellow rainbo's, in fact about 4 months ago i ran across another one and put it aside for you. Now I just have to remember where "aside" is. LOL I will go digging through the Rainbo box as I am think there maybe 1 or 2 of the opalescent type that you just got in Vegas. I will be in touch. _________________ Post up some of your killer mibs! |
