Very nice! Have you ever taken the time to count the outer threads, what is the common number and what is the highest number? _________________ Peace,Galen |

Nice "caged" style marbles. For some reason I think they're supposed to have at least 12+ outer strands, but I don't get overly worked up over handmade definitions. The craftsmanship and spacing/pattern has a lot more to do with it, and I see what you mean from the ones you posted. Nice symmetry.
Here's a couple other "caged" marbles, see if we can maybe get a couple other people to post their pics of some nice handmades on this board.

wow that first one is about as tight of cage as I have ever seen. all of them are really great examples. that one in the center of the group shot is fantastic. I have asked other more experienced collectors than me about the number of outer strands and 8 is the number I come up with most often. I don't get too hung up on the number, I figure as long as there evenly spaced around the entire marble it is a cage. I have seen as few as four and as many as 18 but it looks like the first one of that1 has 20 or more. they get kind of hard to count when it's wound that tight |

They always look more caged when they are twisted. Both of these marbles have 12 (both 7/8"). ... Roger
