WOW, you found a red/yellow crease-pontil, and a yellow/purple mushroom. Were they found together? I believe they were made by the same manufacturer. (I presume the green and the red/white are also crease-pontil). The red/yellow is very rare. Please post several views if you can. Thanks, ... Roger

The first group were found together, the second group of three weren't, but had the camera out and figured what the heck. The blue one has a weird crease but one of the nicest '9' patterns I've seen in a while. The yellow looked close in both you pointed out and I tried to get a side by side shot of both to compare.

I'll try and post some better shots.

The red/yellow one you were talking about has a bubble right in the middle of the red "9". Looks like a chip unfortunately

It might have started out as a surfaced bubble. Still, its rare. I'd doubt there are more than a dozen in collector's hands. The green is also a crease-pontil for sure, as is the big red/white. Those opaque big ones are hard to find in any color. The yellow/purple is a "mushroom" (any opaque examples are scarce) - very likely made by the same site that made the crease-pontils. It's amazing how similar the patterns are between the crease-pontils and the MFC - All the gatherers probably came from the same (originally German) marble community. Thanks for the info Roger. It's actually a bubble, under the surface, that just looks like a chip in the pic. The surface is perfectly smooth (but I figure the bubble is close as can be to the surface, if it can be seen that clearly in the opaque red). I'm interested to hear your opinion on maker of the brick.

That's good news about the bubble. When I see a bubble just under the surface, or a raised touch mark, I take it as a good indication that the marble has never been played with, and is in exactly the same condition as the day it was made (my eccentric concept of "mint"). I think the brick can only be MFC - too tight and circular for Akro (IMHO). ... Roger
