This may sound " COOKY " not cookie.
But it seems that on Duffy's Alley there's a " trait "
that I (IMHO) have been seeing on other Alleys.
Right up the CENTER of the marble.....the is a
" TREE " or "PLANT" like pattern that " BRANCHES " or " FANS" out.
Does that make sense ????????? _________________ RAR.....Never eat anything bigger then your HEAD ! |

Rick ~~ that pattern is called "dendritic" and is intended to look like a plant or something growing up the side of something. Or something

I too, share the love for the aqua/red ones! They are beauts.............not to mention the others in this thread.
Cool..........learned a new word, "dendritic" meaning "tree-like". Although the spell checker here is telling me that it's spelled incorrectly (because it's underlined in red), I double-checked it in the Merriam Online Dictionary. _________________ Lizzy

Lizzy ~~ You're right. I misspelled "dendridic". Did I get it right the second time?
Rickster ~~ I think you mean "Provenance" not "Providence", although both are important.
Here's a similar example. Alan applied the word in this auction which is where I learned it. (And the mib is in the mail and on the way. )
example of a "dendridic flame" on an Alley mib:

I think the word would be "dendritic", from "dendrites", a mineral term.

It just means "branching". It's used to describe many "branching" things, probably best known in describing the branching connections among brain neurons (dendrites). ... Roger |
