Just wondering about collector names. I guess the first three would be red zebras? How about the brownish based one? Is that considered chocolate or is it too light? I thought the rainbo on the end was neat with that funky band. I had a successful week of treasure hunting. Thanks all!

Nice Score indeed David.

I'd venture a guess that the Red Zebra on the left
COULD or MIGHT fall into the catagory as a " Broken Cork " NLR.

MAYBE.........and I say MAYBE even the one next to it.

Ditto on what Chuck said......STELLAR RAINBO !!!! Great Color/Combo !

RAR................. Cool

i would call the first 3 Red Zebras, and i'd also go out on a limb to say they're in order of age.

the 4th one, can't really tell - is that more orange?

the last one is a text-book "woody"

and they're all lovely!

Hey Tank, are there different varieties of Woodies? Here is one that I am not sure if it was you or Lizzy identified for me on LOM.

Chuck

I've called those Woodies.

I have those on that base color as well.
I have a few with other Brown BaseGlass
that have the " Woody " Ribbons. Some have
the "Heavy" veneered Brown (patch ?) on the
one side and ribbons on the other like your
1st pic.

I think those have fallen into the 7-Up...Sunset and
a few other Rainbo name catagory. The Bloodies are another
Rainbo that did get a Name when found in boxes
that are labeled Bloodies.

Great pics of the second one. My pics always looked
ORANGE. Could never get a good enough pic to
ask the same question.

RAR........... Cool

hey chuck, it was probably lizzy if it was on LOM, but i wouldn't argue with that ID.

my understanding of the term 'woody' is that it's a kind of a category or a style characteristic (like 'metallic'), rather than an actual 'name' (like zebra or 7-up)

i should clarify that it was guy gregg who came up with the name, and i can't say for sure if he meant a characteristic or if he meant a particular color combo.

but i think the way it's caught on, anytime you see that nice, pronounced wood-grain look on a rainbo, i'd call it a woody.

that one looks like the one I won a while back on ebay. Mine has a flat spot, otherwise mint.

This is the web page from Peltier Marbles WOODIE in the NLR section

Hey...........I don't know nuttin' about no "woodies"! hehe

Chuck, not sure if it was me that called yours a "Woody" on LOM, but I'm in agreement with Chris that it's used more as a descriptive term than an actual "collector's name".
