My wife is as addicted to quilting as I am to marbles. This works out great because it's hard for her to criticize me about marbles when all she wants to do is quilt. She litterally has more fabric stockpiled then many small quilt shops. Not only does she quilt for herself but she also machine quilts for other people. I thougth I would share a few pictures of her wall hanging type quilts she has recently finished. These measure about 40" square.
Thanks for looking
Charles

NICE. Dale Simmons and his wife Shirley not long ago finished a quilt with marbles.
Maybe give her a hint, has she thought about one of marbles? I am sure myself or others would be interested or have plenty of ideas for marble patterns.
I saw one done with popeye and marbles, like the Akro box. |

Thanks guys for the nice comments. I took the pictures and posted them without telling her I was doing it. She has a nice collection of old quilts and started out making quilts in the traditional style. Now she is more interested in making what they call art quilts. She has made a king size quilt for another board member with marbles on it, I lost that picture when our old computor died.
Thanks

Charles, these definitely go under the category of "Wall Art". The patterns and workmanship involved are wonderful!
These reminded me of a funny memory. (to me anyway) My mom used to love antique quilts and had quite a few of them. She gave me one once for my birthday about 20 years ago and I proudly put it on the end of my bed. We had a Golden Retriever that was about 6 months old and into chewing everything. My mom had warned me to make sure that I didn't leave this anywhere where Roscoe (our dog) could get to it. I didn't think that he'd bother with it.............but yes.......he did chew a hole in it the very first day that I got it! We ran all over town looking for a professional quilter to repair it quickly......before my mom figured out what happened. It was a fairly small hole............but it cost $50 to repair it. I don't think that my mom was ever the wiser.
I moved the post here because it was a "non-glass" topic and changed the title to "Wall Hanging Quilt" from "Off-Topic". Lizzy _________________ Lizzy
