YIKES! "foofighter".......(don't remember the rest of his ebay name) was the buyer that a whole lot of folks had problems with, including myself. I had posted something on Lou's board a while back (I believe that it's one of the older threads that is gone) asking if anyone else was having problems with shipping to Australia. I had gotten a couple of nasty emails threatening me with negative feedback because he hadn't received my pkg. After looking at this feedback and recognizing some board members, I contacted them. They told me that they had refunded his money after getting the same kind of emails and threats. So I emailed him back and told him that I'd refund his money if the pkg. didn't show up within 21 days and after I'd finished my "investigation". About 2 weeks later, he posted feedback indicating that he'd received it.

The thread that I posted on Lou's, ended up with a number of board members sharing their stories about how they were *scammed* by this person. He threatened a number of people and said that he was connected to law enforcement in Australia. Also there were people that he sold marbles to that never received theirs. At that time, his son & wife were emailing people and telling them that he was in the hospital with a heart attack and that as soon as he was well, that they'd get their pkg.

After a few months, I went back and looked at his ebay profile............and he was no longer a 'registered user'. There were a whole bunch of negatives from angry people who'd bought things from him and never received anything.

EDIT: He's the reason that I no longer ship to Australia. I found out that ebay's seller protection extends to the U.S., Canada & the U.K., but not to Australia.

I don't blame you for not wanting to ship to Austraila because of him. I felt the same way after dealing with him.

edna, no need to apologize. it sounds like this person was very determined to fool people. he just didn't know how to cover his tracks very well.

it's a good lesson for all of us, i think.

Hey Edna,.. I just hope that he didn't make you a victim. These crooks work at being devious and they take advantage of us because we don't think like them. Tracy/Slaggy brought it up, but it was Sandy who did the research here.

edit; speaking of crooks getting caught red-handed.. a guy threw a rock in my next door neighbors window with the intent of robbing him on Thanksgiving Day. My dogs probably scared him off cause they bark loudly and the houses are close,.. so he made his way down and broke into another neighboring house, and another,.. BUT the owner was home and faced him with a gun and SHOT him twice. he used a revolver like the police use with hollow points took out a lung and his hip. The crook is now in the hospital, cuffed to a bed and two cops on guard. There are several warrants out on him in Ohio and Michigan. BUSTED!!!! There are some people ya shouldn't pick on LOL!
