Hey Everyone-
I picked this one up recently for a great price that I couldn't pass up. The surface is wet mint with nary a pinprick. The interesting thing about this Mib is that it appears to be a Cyclone/Cobra type Guinea instead of the typical splotched pattern? Is this a correct assertion and if so what is the rarity of this type vs a normal pattern. Just trying to clarify as I my knowledge of CAC's is not terrific. Thanks

Wow, a great marble. But I've got to say those pics are just TOO BIG to really see it well. So I took the liberty of reformatting your pics (I hope that's okay). ... Roger

| Congrats Mike, but I think that I'm in Chris's camp on the remelt. There seems to be a lot of really fine "fizzy" bubbles near the surface, and the surface overall seems to be irregular, from what I see in the pics. I remember Joe (Madman) saying the other day that he had tried to do remelts on some old glass, slags I believe, and he had commented that the glass was "boily" and made tons of fine bubbles. You can go to a thread on LOM and see where he posted a pic of one and the surface glass looked dead ringer to your Guinea. Hope I'm wrong on this one, Jim. |

anyone have pics saved of the one hardinhunter sold on ebay last year that got everyone in a tizzy on lou's? i can't seem to find that thread; only the follow-up one about the feedback.
nah...it had the same color base, but i think that one had a bunch of mucky looking browns in some areas.
tough break, though...any chance of getting a refund on this? i would guess that even at a discount it cost a nice chunk of change, and with kids, marbles are often a rare indulgence. |

Although I know barely anything about the subject.......I've saved some pics.
Is this the one that you're talking about, Chris? I forgot to label where it came from and all I put on it is "CACguineaPossReMeltorTorch".
Here's a picture that Dan posted before of a "cooked Guinea".
Last but not least..........the first one below is a picture from one of Marble Alan's auctions of a "Guinea Cyclone" and then a picture that BT posted before of a "Guinea Cobra" (neither of these are re-melts or torched).
