hehe apparently *someone* doesn't mind it being called a "snake"
do you have pics showing the difference between sky blue & baby blue? i've had a couple light blue spirals and didn't realize they were harder to find than any in your list from 5 or 6 on down... |

You left out black and you left out purple.
I have some black "spiral's" (or snakes)
I have "A" purple "spiral" (or snake)
I have a purple, yellow, orange
I have SEEN a purple, blue, gray
(it was not for sale, else I would be broke again hahaha)
I have no idea how many 2 color spiral's (or snakes) I have but it's a bunch and I am not even in the running count wise compared to LOTS of folks who actively hunt them.
blue/green, green/blue, red/white, yellow/white, blue/white, dark blue/ light blue, green/white, green/yellow, yellow/orange, yellow/red, blue/yellow (thanks 2"T")
All of these I KNOW I have, or have had.
Where's Terry T when we need him ? LOL!!!
He can list LOTS more. _________________ the actual length of "Just a minute" depends on which side of the bathroom door your on ! |

Daaaaaam Bo I have never heard of or seen more than a few of the ones you mentioned.
Never knew purple existed.
Are the black ones you spoke of from the digs? I have seen a couple of real dark ones but they had a reddish hue to them.
Purple, yellow and orange sounds awesome. Any pics to post up?
I remember seeing that purple, blue and gray one in a post several years ago.
Green and Yellow sounds neat. Are the colours Popeyeish or different?
Crap my list seems moot with the addition of these new ones to me. Now I have to hunt even harder than before.
P.S Thanks for the accente gou tick Lizzie. Bet lots of people were wondering what I was talking about. It could be an accente gouch that was needed I get them mixed up. Keep your eyes on your mail box since now I am back in country it will be Marble Day soon. |

Here is my Akro with 3 colors, yellow, orange and, "black".
This one has a 2 colors together, orange and yellow as the largest and central spiral with another spiral that is, "black" and another that is yellow = venomous, no?

Oh, I love this thread...and these marbles. I took a quick pic of a few of my keepers, all mint save for one tortured beauty.
Patry I think I have the fanged-friend of that venomous fiend; it's in the lower right-hand corner of the (lousy) pic. Mine is an onyx, though, it's on a light honey base glass, but they certainly look related. I also have a three-color cousin, center top. Clear glass, yellow, light orange and black, it's better in hand than the pic shows.
Bo, you're right, Terry T. would be all over this one; he's an encyclopaedia for Akro & clear-based especially. For single colors I'd argue the point about white being most common; I'd say yellow is the most ubiquitous. I'd also say it's a tough call on red & two color, especially if you throw out white; I'd have to give the edge to a true two color being tougher, and certainly higher in value.
For two colors I've also seen (and sold, what an idiot) a purple & green, red & black, and brown & white. I know you don't count white, but see the pic lower left - it's brown, not oxblood, and I haven't seen it's like but once. Mine has internal fractures like crazy, but the price was right; gratis.
The one top right looks darn close to the one just sold on eBay. I guess I'm going to have to start treating it better; next thing you know it'll want a raise, more benefits, sheesh it's a good thing these things don't eat much...

Hi all, the best 3 color snake I've ever seen is Ernie's! (zaboo) It's a White with black and brown on a clear base, 4 twists and if I remember correct it's 3/4" too! What is extra special about it is looking from one pole you see a black and white spiral, from the oppisit pole you see a brown and white spiral! I told Ernie it the best cork I've ever seen period! He told me it is what got him started collecting Akro. Dani has shown it in their avatar on the other boards but it's so full the clear does not show and the photo is no match for the marble in hand! Dave the marble you posted the link to the buyer is Alan S. he's a fellow member of the IAMC club, I may get to see it in hand, but I think yours is more uncommon with the lt. blue! Sweet marbles everybody!

This marble was I D'd for me as a hybrid Popeye.
It is 5/8"s of dynomite.
It has the light, "robins egg blue", white, orange, yellow and clear.
The top image shows its colors best.
