Here are some cool cats. Oxblood with green aventurine. All of them that have green have aventurine. Love the blue green one in the middle.

Enjoy!

craig, those are fantastic. and your pictures are outstanding!

is there a reason you referred to them as cats rather than foreign sparklers? i've seen you show sparklers before and you referred to them as such.

i guess what i'm asking is, is there a difference? or are they all just cat-type construction?

WOW, what a great assortment...........lots of variety in construction, colors, etc. Very Happy

I wondered too about why you referred to these as "Cats" vs. "Sparklers". They reminded me of those killer European Oxblood Sparklers that you posted before (shown below and still some of my favorites!).

Sometimes the German Sparklers do end up on the border with Catseyes, but I would refer to the ones in the original post all as Sparklers. Here are some border examples. ...Roger

Here's a foreign sparkler with the red stripes and aventurine,i like them very much.
Roger are you sure your's are foreign sparklers?
I mean sometimes the Asian cat's do look a lot like yours.

Looks like all of Craig's marbles are Euro sparklers and Lizzy's aswell.
Here's is an Asian messed up cat's eye or should i say Asian sparkler type?

Yeah, should have said Sparklers. Sorry, late night posts while fighting a cold. Very Happy

But one thing is for sure, if you call something by a wrong name you get a bunch of replies to a post. LOL...

Love all the other pics. And these marbles are exactly like the ones in the Monick box.

Winnie, your pics are getting even more awesome! Very Happy

Just curious................that last one that you call an "Asian cat" and possibly Roger's example, what makes them different than the newer European cat-type Sparklers like these (all pics from ebay auctions)?

..........or maybe I should ask how you can tell that they are of Asian origin and not European? Smile

P.S. Just for clarification, the pics that I posted of the Monick box and marbles aren't mine..........they belong to Craig (spara50). I'd save the pics from a previous post. Wink

Lizzy it's just my thought, nothing is documented about European or Asian cat's.
I wouldn't call your's European cat- type sparklers.
In my opinion they are just cat-eyes and maybe Japanese.

Here's a picture of cat's from which i think they are European made, maybe before 1950 in Germany, you can only found them here in old groups, they have fat vanes.
The color is white with one color that goes from light to very dark.

I don't know for sure if the messed up ones (Asian sparklers type),the yellow one i've posted came from Asian but don't know howelse i can call them.
Do you have them also in America?
Do you know where the Camel-glass marbles came from?
