These two 15/16" marbles were in the battery jar that I keep my fathers old marbles and any others that I find, or that my mother has tossed in over the years. I don't believe these are cats eye marbles. I would appreciate anyone's help in identifying them and telling me where I can research them as to maker, age, collectibility, and values. I have a large amount of marbles that don't seem to fit neatly into any known types. Also, I don't know where any of the newer types came from, as my mother has been buying marbles for many years for her craft projects. Hence, a lot of them ended up in the jar with the older ones.
Thanks in advance!

They appear to be Peltier Bananas.

If the have that "oil slick" finish, they are new Oriental or Vacor.
They are a form of cat's eye. _________________ Jane |

Thank you all for the imput! After following up on all the leads you posted, I have found them to in fact be Vacor "Flames". The oily surface description was helpful. I only have the two, so I figure my mother has used the rest of them over the last 10 years or so for art projects. I think they are a good looking marble. Lots of crudity and the "flames" inside are interesting to study in very close up views.
Thanks again!
