Post subject: C'mon now
Background: won auction, made payment and shipping seemed a bit high. Still made payment for full amount, marbles + shipping (since I like to do business in a timely fashion) and simply asked that if the $14 I paid for shipping turned out to be cheaper, I'd appreciate being billed for the actual amount with the difference refunded. It's not unusual for honest people to mail a letter/package and find out it wasn't as much as they thought it was going to be. Happens all the time.
Here's the response:
"Just received your payment and note. The shipping payment isn't "too high" - as was explained in the listing description. I presume you read it before you bid. I don't appreciate having to provide an explanation, again, or justification, for the shipping amount. Paypal requires shipping by Priority Mail International for us BOTH to be covered by their Protection Plan. Again, as I stated clearly and without hesitation in the listing description. If you had emailed before bidding the shipping quote would have been exactly the same. Since you are clearly dissatisfied I'm refunding your money and canceling the transaction. Don't bid on any of my auctions in the future. Thank you, nick"
My note that went along with full payment:
"Hi, Shipping rate seems a bit high, please refund the difference and wrap these items carefully so they don't get damaged in transit. Thanks Mike"
Now, in all fairness, seller states will ship to worldwide and it might actually cost $14 to get these marbles from there to here (Canada) which is why I paid the full amount. But to cancel a transaction completely is a bit absurd. As if I should apologize to this guy for wasting his time, apparently.
Yeah, I know. Dirty laundry...
