Some of those in the first Post could as easily be Master or Bogard. For a fairly definitive article on Bogard go to joemarbles.com, click on Marble Articles and scroll down to my article on Bogard Cat's-Eyes. You will see a thorough inventory of Bogard cat's-eyes from something like ten 50 count bags. David

Here are the contents of a Master Glass bag (it has a marble sized gap in the seal). Cats in one picture and other contents in the other.

The "black" and red are more transparent, the green, white and yellow are opaque. Two of the reds have a touch of black in them. The yellows glow bright orange in UV. Some of the opaque vanes are more "potato chip" then "banana" shaped. Smile My sealed bag (picture three) is more even on the cat colors.

Yours may be Master, the orange and green colors look off for Bagard. The Bogard orange was not as bright and the green was darker.

Jim- I am not so sure your cats are not Bogard. I think those may be the banana cats which he made. I threw a ton of banana cats over my shoulder while in the dirt at the Heaton site. The banana cats (bad seedy glass) especially green were the most common marble i saw at the Heaton site. Jack made them with banana colors of green, white, orange, yellow, blue, and a two color dark or burnt orange and blue. Maybe trying to be like the MK signature cat. These that did not have much or any seedy glass are very difficult to seperate from Peltier banana cats. Is the banana in yours the same size as most Peltier or larger?

John, were you thinking that the pics that Chris is showing were of Master mibs?

I was a little confused myself at first...........until I realized that those are the Bogard cats that have the same coloration as some Master Tiger-Eyes! Here's a link to the Bogard article on Mental with some more examples of their unique looking "cats" (for lack of a better term now).

Not sure if Chris has seen your question regarding MM vs MG cats, but maybe my response will bump this to where she'll see it. Wink

There was also a great thread on Mental that discussed this very topic. Here's a link:

Those "seedy" Masters can be fun to look for. Personally, I've always thought of the Bogards as "similar" to a catseye....they sure have a unique look. Great pics and info everyone! Good to see the board is thriving!

Chris ~~ I have a good collection of MM/MG mibs but have never paid any attention to cats-eyes so I have no clue what MM and MG cats look like. You're IDing Jim's as Master Glass specifically, as opposed to Master Made. How are they different?

Also your pic shows some that I would call Tiger Eyes, MM. Are they also cats? If so are they Cat Tigers? If not cats, then they don't look quite like any of my MM Tiger eyes.

Could you elucidate ID characteristics for the weak-minded?

Inquiring minds want to know Very Happy
