I've never actually held one before but based on the pontil and size of 23/32"???
I kinda need to know the value so I can pay someone for this also.
I had to take these with a flash so you are seeing a lot of extra white spots
OK, I'm a dipstick. CAC? _________________ Dog |

If that is a melted pontil, I'd say it could very well be |

It looks like an outtie belly-button that is highly finished. On the German's that I have, the melted ones seem to have a slight indent where this one doesn't. It really looks hand-gathered epically since it is slightly out-of-round. I don't have any American's to compare this to. Don't know if any of this helped. I did check out the Marble Museum for comparison but one pic there didn't help. _________________ Dog |

yes that is one of Leightons marbles probably made at Navarre. I also should add that there are no melted pontil marbles from Germany. Peace,Galen _________________ Peace,Galen

Here are some pictures from Alan's auctions that might help.
The one on the left here is described as a "hand-gathered Navarre Melted Pontil" and the one on the right is a "German Ground Pontil".
This was described as a "Navarre Melted Pontil Transitional".
This was described as 'Leighton Melted Pontil but perhaps Navarre'.

That's the site I was looking at but when you have never had one in hand, well you get the idea. So, what do I owe my friend for this one? Any ideas? _________________ Dog |

Thanks Lizzy. That's about what I had figured but wanted to make sure I was being fair. _________________ Dog |
