lizzy, i know it's hard to tell from the earlier picture, but your unlabeled marble at 1:00 is the original christmas tree shown in the first group (the green is faint in the earlier picture) these are christmas trees with transparent reddish orange and an opaque lime green (these are similar to the citruses but without the opaque sherbet yellow)
the one you labeled christmas tree in your second picture is actually unnamed - it's more orangy and forest green, probably close to what craig is talking about naming.
my thoughts on the citrus/tracer/angel timeline is that:
*the citrus marbles are NLR.
*the tracers (imo) are clearly rainbos.
*and my feeling is that the angels are probably from that gray transition period - the base glass seems similar to that used in some older peerless patches and seems to have a more NLR-ish ribbon configuration but some do look rainbo-ish.
again, this is my opinion based on my understanding of the glass and patterns, and not something i know for "fact" |

Now I'm really confused.
I looked at those 3 marbles over and over and kept trying to figure out which one in the "revisited" group Citrus picture was the Xmas Tree from Steve's original Citrus pictured set. I also didn't think that it was the one in the 1:00 position (in the "revisited" pic) because that one looks like it might have some deep turquoise in it. (near the bottom pole.) Although that could be just a reflection.
But I had cropped out the 2 in question and put them side-by-side. I swear they look like the same marble.
This Xmas Tree on the left is from the "original" set and the one on the right is from the 9:00 position in the "Citrus Revisited" picture.
Here's the 2 that I thought were the same marble. The one on the left is from the "original" set and the one on the right is from the 1:00 position in the "revisited" picture.
Now these are the 2 that you are saying are the same ones.

well, shooty-shoot-shoot. i totally see now that those pics are of the same marble!
the only explanation i can give is that steve did not include the christmas tree in his first picture like i'd assumed.
the unnamed marble in the second photo is the citrus-set christmas tree. the one called a christmas tree in the first picture is actually the unnamed marble, and is mis-labeled.
that's my story, and i'm sticking to it! (until lizzy comes back again ) |

Chris, I'd considered that scenario when I was trying to unscramble all this. hehe But since I labeled that picture a long time ago while it was on Lou's board .............and nobody corrected me............I've been living with a lie all this time!!!
Ok, so now we really need more pics of the "real" Citrus Xmas Tree and we need Smitty, too!!! _________________ Lizzy

Why do you say it's all out of context now?
EDIT: To help minimize the confusion, I just moved my post about the different types of green in the Citrus over to the "Citrus marbles" thread started by "marblegrl". _________________ Lizzy

just because there were a million more pictures added and i was typing when there were still only two pictures for people to scroll back and forth to.
lol @ living a lie! i never noticed that marble before, and i have one of the christmas trees! i really did always just think it was just a weak one.
here's an old picture of my keeper box before i rearranged it...3rd row from the bottom, last 3 marbles show the tree, the transparent k&m, and the citrus:
