Hi everyone. Here are two machine mades that a friend of mine asked for help with.... But as I am not a machine made collector I could not help. Hopefully someone can. UKM

Look like pieces of glass cullet ground to spheres based on those pics. "Machine made" by a sphere grinder type-thing.

they looked that way to me too, at first. but i'm not convinced that a cullet marble would have a spherical pattern.

my guess is that they are just heavily polished corkscrews.

Yes, guessing that the patterns are circular around the marbles, not spiraling like a corkscrew. Peace,Galen

That's what my mind saw too.

More pics showing (what I call) the poles might give me a different impression.

I was thinking similar to this type.

If they are spherical patterns like they appear, I'd stick with my cullet guess. Different stacks/layers of flat glass in cullet would make this pattern, layers like you'd see naturally on some ground agates referred to as "bullseye" pattern.
