Look like pieces of glass cullet ground to spheres based on those pics. "Machine made" by a sphere grinder type-thing. |

Is it the disconnected circles in the striping pattern that suggests ground cullet? ... Roger |

they looked that way to me too, at first. but i'm not convinced that a cullet marble would have a spherical pattern.
my guess is that they are just heavily polished corkscrews. _________________ Chris

Yes, guessing that the patterns are circular around the marbles, not spiraling like a corkscrew. Peace,Galen _________________ Peace,Galen |

funny what the mind can do to a picture...
is the blue transparent inside? or is that black? _________________ Chris

That's what my mind saw too.
More pics showing (what I call) the poles might give me a different impression.
I was thinking similar to this type.

If they are spherical patterns like they appear, I'd stick with my cullet guess. Different stacks/layers of flat glass in cullet would make this pattern, layers like you'd see naturally on some ground agates referred to as "bullseye" pattern. |
