I don't think so, but I sure like that alternating flame-type color. It almost looks to my novice eye like a hand gathered marble. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I purchase 3 different lots of loose marbles recently from Ebay and there seem to be some pretty good mibs in the groups. That oxblood eggyolk was a surprise, as well as the possible Popeye red and blue.

This marble was in one of the groups. I saw it in the photos posted for the auction and had an itch, so I scratched it.

I hope that you all don't get too bored with all the marbles that I plan on posting here on a regular basis.

Back to this marble: any id's? Another 5/8" marble.

Might be an Alley flame.

I'd go with Alley as well although it's rather a dull one color-wise. If I didn't already know that Ravenswood flames are far and few between my first guess would have been Ravenswood but the chances are well nigh onto nil. I think I've only come across 4 or 5 Ravenswoods in this size(and most are in this size) that would come close to qualifying as a flame(say 2-3 tips). Just found another last month when going through and bringing back the rest of my Ravenswood stock from California. Any Ravenswood that I have deigned to call a flame have not had hardly any more than three tips. I'm not of a mind to disqualify based on # of flame tips if the ones present have substance. There's flame tips and there's flame tips. David
