This is a nice marble. At 5/8's, it has great color and form. A different color patch on each pole, and 3 other patches around the equator ending and starting in two seams: one fairly straight and the other with a slight u shape. The smaller patch looks like a ribbon to me, but I don't think so. I noticed on Marble Alan's old site that he describes a multi-colored patch of 7 or more colors. I have not seen this type discussed anywhere else. Has that type been dropped and now it is just the Elite? The colors on this marble blend into so many different shades, that a person could seperate them out and get at least 7 colors. But they would be so close to the original patch colors that it would be kind of a stretch. What do you all think on this type? And is there in fact a 7 color Vitro patch?

I just realized that I posted a group photo already that contained this marble. Man, I have got to get my marbles sorted out! I have them all in 1/2 oz. and 1 oz. portion cups w/lids. They were all banging around, so I had to do something. I am working hard to get them separated and in their own bins.

For a full exposition including charting re. these marbles I suggest that you reference Chuck Brandstetter's article in the WVMCC newsletter. If I had it at hand I'd quote Vol. and #. Maybe later.....David

Thank you, David. I will try to look that up.

Nice marble.
If that were mine, I'd put it in my Vitro Elite pile.
Well actually, I would have to get a pile of Vitro Elites, and then I would put it in that pile.

Funny stuff! Just for giggles, what is your chosen poison for marble collecting? I haven't figured it out yet. You don't have to tell me, but I promise not to blab it around if you do.

I'm in my 8th year and I havent figured it out yet either.
Just for shiggles..anything that has a blue and green color combo.
also, in no particular order, I have a humble collection of Akro corkscrews, Akro oxbloods, Vitros, German handmades, Contemp handmades, Peltier rainbos, Peltier Peerless Patches, A few NLRs, all manner of WV swirls, a few MKs, and any marble with metallic.
(and a closet cats eye collector)
note: the above list is subject to change on a week by week preference.

For Chuck Brandstetter's articles go to WVMCC Newsletter June 2006 Issue 15 where he covers Tri-lites and Elites & Buttermilks, Aquamarines & Superiors. The go to the WVMCC Newsletter Dec. 2006 Issue #17 where he has an article "57 Varieties -Tiger Eyes." That ought to keep you busy. I think you can access via their website and they also sell a DVD or sumthin' that has all the articles.
My poison varies from day-to-day. That's a tough one. I just got 20 of Nadine Macdonald's marbles in the mail a cpl. days ago so I'm pretty high on them right now! David
