This 21/32" marble is really weird. It has an almost sticky feeling to the surface. When I am looking at my other marbles , I invarible drop them or have them squirt out of my grasp because of their slickness. No way on this one. I can squeeze and manhandle it without fear of dropping it. I know that sounds funny, but for my old, arthritic fingers, I wish all my marbles had this finish. And it is an exceedingly handsome marble! It reminds me of some of the Kokomo glass marbles that were special runs. I don't think this is even close, but the color contrast and crispness of the seperation lines as well as the depth are similar. Anyone have any ideas as to the father of this one?

I'm now thinking that this is an Alley.

I'd lean more towards Champion myself.

Let me start by saying I screwed up the first posting on this marble--I was thinking about Wissmach, not Kokomo, (my wife and I are semi-pro stained glass artists), so all the art glass names are familiar to me. I remember reading on Joe's Marbles about the Champion runs with Wissmach glass that were thought to have been furnace runs. It has since been found out that Wissmach glass was used on a few of the runs, and that is were my whole post starting, but got screwed up with the wrong glass maker. Sorry many times over. My brain does not function well anymore, and this is the result--lots of cross-over short circuiting. So.....I'm sticking with the first posting, all except the glass maker being Wissmach instead of Kokomo.

Al, thanks for jolting my memory.....the stickiness of glass is very noticeable to me when I am using different types of glass in a stained glass project. Wissmach has this quality. That is where two brain cells in my head bumped into each other and tried to make a connection, but came up with Kokomo. I wish I were there now with the Beach Boys.
