This one came in today from John in a trade. Thanks John! Question is. What type of Cork is it? It measures 13/16" So to me that rules out any type of Spiral marble. I have also ruled out an Ace type since I have never seen a 13/16" one. Has anyone? I'm not sure they exist? So that leaves this one as a Cork with no name. Please help! To an Akrohead it's a bugger.
A quick look at my collection and I can't see any other 13/16" marbles?? I'll have to do a closer look. Anyone else have any? Any that are not the general dug ones?

Looks akro to me. I have 13/16, 3/4, 7/8, 1 inch. What makes you think it's not akro? They made all sizes. Edna

I agree with the "any size" theory of life, too. It appears to be an Akro Auger.

Oh no no Mis-understanding. I know it's an Akro, but what type of Akro is what I was looking for. I would love to see a Spiral in 13/16" or an Ace. I have an Onyx that is a tad under. 13/16" is an odd size for anything that resembles this marble.

Could you describe the base for me (opaque, tranlucent). I've got a couple just a hair under 14/16ths. I wouldn't rule out any name with Akros because of size. Some Manufacturers yes, but not Akro - especially if you include those from the dump.

I would put the base on this one as being above average translucent. Not quite Mossy but mossed. I have seen 7/8" Aces but nothing this small. Still looking for pics of any other 13/16" Akro. I know they made all sizes but 13/16" seems to be elusive.

If it isn't in transparent glass, it's not a spiral. The glass isn't transparent colored with a white cork so it's not an onyx. I'd say ace might be your best bet. Maybe it's a "moonie" Is it opalescent? Sissy

Just my 2 cents, but it seems like there are a ton of the "Superman" corks that measure in at 13/16". I have a couple of them myself.

Nope Sissy. Not opalescent at all. Rules out a Moonie type. The biggest example of one of those I have seen is 3/4".
Seems lots of the dug ones were 13/16" The Supermen, Lifesaver, Indians more so.

orbboy, I think your getting off on a bad track here with the size thing

What the folks are telling you appears to go flying past like you have already made up your mind that they are wrong. Notice I said "appears"

Hope i'm wrong, but thats what I am seeing

Although Akro was anal when it came to size (hence the so many different sizes in the dump sites) they produced numerous different sizes and boxed them in those sizes to match.

I seriously doubt you could come up with ANY akro in ANY size that someone could not come up with AT LEAST 5 more, same style, same color, same patterns, all different sizes.

Personally, my blue with with cork set has 11 different sizes in it. None have been polished down. All original surfaces (a couple with more hits than I want, but oh well...)
