So mail came in last week, "nice marble" and I looked for a fitting spot on the shelf where I like to put marbles that i really enjoy. Car pulled in and dog went nuts just about then, marble ended up in my pocket instead. Turns out the pocket I put the marble in had residual dog treats at one point, so noticed later that there happened to be a hole (from a dog that goes apeshit for treats) and the marble was MIA. After a couple days of mag-lighting under the stove, fridge, nook and cranny, tossing all the cushions on the couch(es), re-walking the same path with the same shorts and a "placebo" marble to see where it could have dropped/rolled , and of course taking the long run and inspecting more dog crap than I'd like to check over the ~400 miles we've covered in the last couple days or so, I'm happy to say tonight the marble turned up! (And no more dog crap searching)

Here's a pic, one on the right to keep the one on the left some company. I know... nothing overly special, but I suppose it's the principle of finding a marble when you thought it was lost for good. Smile or just not where it should have been.

Thanks all, just an oddball experience I thought I'd share. It's actually the one on the right that was missing, the one on the left I've had for a while (they do look good together, I think). lol Al. The irony is that it didn't end up in the dog poop, that's just what a lot of my last-ditch searching centered around, since I couldn't find it anywhere else I'd thoroughly combed over. And I mean I looked everywhere else prior to that..

See, my dog has a tendency to not chew whole kibbles.. but also to "hide" small things, apparently marbles as well, in odd places and play with them later so I think that's what happened in this case. I'm just glad it turned up so I don't have to continue looking, I was getting pretty obsessed with finding it.

Now in it's rightful place on the shelf out of the dogs reach. Laughing
