When it comes to quantity of machine-made marbles that were produced, are there any hard numbers on which company made the most? Not looking for specifics, just a general idea of buckets a day vs. boxcars a day. Was it Akro? |

I believe in the height of the marble frenzy I heard Akro was producing upwards of 400,000 marbles a day making them the highest ranking in the quantity arena.
And if you think about the amount of common corkscrew marbles, it makes perfect sense to me...

I'm not certain, but I think I read in some of Peltier's papers that in 1931 or so they were making a total of one million marbles a day on 13 machines.
Chris may have a more accurate memory.

I wonder if it is not Vacor. They are now making over 20,000,000 a day. Peace,Galen _________________ Peace,Galen |

Wow, 1 million a day is a lot of marbles, but 20 million? That gives me a better idea - way more than I thought.
