I have seen a few of these patches in the 'dug' Akros and have wondered the same thing...............were they deliberate patch marbles? Especially having seen the corkscrews in the same exact colors. On many of the 'dug' patch marbles, you can almost tell that they were corks that they are accidental patches. Sometimes the seams aren't quite straight, etc. On the ones like this one....where things seem so symmetrical, it makes me think that they were deliberate.

But to play devil's advocate.............I don't believe that I've ever seen a patch in these colors in original packaging either. Twisted Evil

BTW, nice mib!

Here is another patch marble in Akro colors that didn't cork. This one is in popeye colors and appears to be a "true" Popeye patch.

Thanks Lizzy....
I forgot to add, the red has whispy filaments running from pole to pole.
This is what makes it appear opaque the way these images were taken ..... the red is actually transparent. I need to get some back lit images and maybe try bouncing the flash of a black surface on to the marble. Either way or both may show these attributes more clearly.

Nice almost cork/ Patch.... I might have it's twin around here somewhere.

Great pic too!

Here's one of mine with patriot colors and its 5/8" (probably not dug)......I think this marble was intentional and not a "cork that didnt cork"
