He now keeps the bidders ID private, and does not accept returns for auction sales. _________________ Still on the right side of the grass!!! |

I moved this into the main forum because it's a topic that could lend itself to a current discussion. (We can always move it back to the "Pros & Cons" area later. )
Now..............someone sent me a link to a discussion on Lou's board about this one and asked me what I thought. I don't know a whole lot about old clays, Benningtons, etc., but I've never seen nor heard of an "Shielded eagle on a blue bennington" before. However, it was mentioned on Lou's thread that the seller had purchased "blue ceramic glaze" in the past. Sure enough, if you look at their recent purchases, you'll see it. Here's where they bought the glaze. Looks like their $1.90 purchase has given them a good return. They've actually sold 2 of these fake "Shielded Eagles". The first one was on Dec. 18 and it sold for $256. Brad, the one that you're showing is for another one. It's smaller than the first one (that one was over 1") and this one went for $115.
I'm sure that the reason that the bidder's ID is private, is to keep folks like us from contacting the unsuspecting buyers........to keep their gravy train rolling! It's really disgusting though, what some people will do in chasing the almighty dollar.

that's one big smoking gun!
where's the seller from? i wonder if local police would do anything?
edit: d'oh - guess we'd have to know who it is first...maybe we could bid on the next one, some insane amount, then get the contact info...
edit #2: - if you take the auction literally, it does look like a genuine antique bennington with an eagle on it - he just left out the part where he added the eagle recently....so has he truly committed fraud? |

She is guilty of both fraud and violating the Hobby Act. The part about having had it in her family since 19070 was a nice touch, she could list it in vintage handmades. She has also sold a lot or 2 of fake green bennies.
There was a 6 or 7 page discussion on this at LOM. _________________ Still on the right side of the grass!!! |

There was a huge discussion on LOM about this marble when it sold for for around $250. The seller was invited to the board and it got really ugly really fast . I was surprised to see the marble relisted or another marble just like it. Not really sure what to think of this seller. _________________ RJ |

I include eBay in that catagory.
Are we allowed to post the seller's name of "questionable" lots? Whenever I am in doubt about a seller I search their eBay name on the marble sights. If it comes up I read what other folks have said about them. This one is youhave2bid2win |

Dutch, I think that including the seller's name is a good idea for "Google" search purposes. That's why I included the picture of her "blue glaze" purchase. Long after the auction is gone, it will show up in this thread. _________________ Lizzy

| There was a huge blow-out between this seller and members on land of marbles tonight. It got super ugly and way out of hand. |

I didn't realize that it had gone on as long as it had over on LOM. I had read just a few of the posts when the 1st thread got started. So I just went and finished reading the rest of it...............and all I can say is "WHEW!"
I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt............but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then chances are, it's a duck. The way that she responded to even the sincere attempts to exchange information about "Benningtons", was very telling. She says that her purchase of the "blue glaze" was unrelated to the "Eagle Bennington" and was for a "school project". Ok..............so even if we said, "OK, it's just a coincidence", how do you explain this tidbit that Sandy unearthed that was written about her on a Yahoo group (related to coin forgery)? Her previous ebay ID was "a6286922" before she changed to youhave2bid2win.
| Quote: | I am hoping to get some advice.
I filed a report with ebay and a claim with Paypal against a6286922 who sold me
artificially toned coins. Paypal told me to send the coins to them but weaseled
out from
paying me by saying I didn't get a online tracking number when in fact they have
the coins.
a6286922 left feedback 4/25/07, 9:30 am stating I did not win my claim and to
contact
her for more info. She left it on a unrelated listing. Does this mean I could
leave feedback
about her on all my listings in the future despite the buyer/seller is not
related.
Does this break ebay policy? This woman has a serious problem and something
needs
to be done about it. She buys Coin Toner chemical, artificially tones coins and
sells
them to unknowing buyers.

She is a reealll piece of work that should be brought down. That may happen in time. With her nasty insults towards the wrong people, she just may have gone too far.

Colossal windbaggery
I dunno why, but after reading that thread, I get the image in my head of a machine pooping out globs of clay and a stream of blue dye, with a little stamp of a chicken hawk stamping away at every blue clay ball.
all powered by a woman running on a treadmill and squeaking out a toot with every stride. Is anyone else getting that image in their head as well? _________________ Dubby™

Nope,
I had a great description laid out and decided against posting it.
I believe most bad people will get what is coming to them. I had a client a few years back that caused me great angst and cost me thousands. He smoked and was overweight. Passed last year from prostrate cancer at 47.
Karma will catchup with this person. We are all good people and shouldn't waste precious time on a lost cause.
Let's move on to happier thoughts of real mibs at cheap prices, OK??? _________________ Still on the right side of the grass!!! |
