D i could think of no other spot for that Vitro Fireopal i sold on the bay around 3 year ago then THE DEN OF MARBLES and im glad that you got it..... and for those that sent hate mail for selling a great glass orb for $85.00 bin sorry you dont get it ....not the marb life that is ......... Hi all,

Most know me as "puzzler926" aka Kalli Smile

. I've been collecting for hmmm...about 15 years seriously, but have been around collectors since I was a kid. My dad (sirmarble aka Philip) has been a long time collector and used to take me to the Texas marble shows. We still go almost every year. My collection started with hand me downs from dad as well as freebies from the show folks 'cause everyone gives away marbles to kids! Smile

. I am now 24.

Probably one of my best finds in the wild was back in the mid 90s at an antique shop somewhere between texas and indiana (we make the trip once a year to visit family). In a coffee can with many random marbles was an inch big clear-based oxblood with a patch of green and white....perfectly mint....to which I paid $1 to obtain. I have been offered up to $150 for it. That remains in my collection and probably will never be sold. Smile

I recently got married last May, we've bought our first house and have "real" jobs, so the marble-ing has been minimal but I'm hoping to get back into it when there is time. The hubby has been learning too; he accompanies dad and I to the shows now.

Hi All........errrrrrrr Yall ! Name is Road Dog and collect abunch of stuff. Marbles being my most recent. Collected all makers at first. Now, narrowing it down to just Transitionals and HG Slags. Now that me and Chona have baby RJ aka Chubbster we are selling off alot of things just to make room. RJ just turned 1 year old and will probably graduate before I can sell it all.

G'day everyone,

My name is Tome and I live in Melbourne Australia. I use to play marbles as a kid in primary school and I got real good at it, one thing I have learnt here from gossip with you folk is that the parents dont let the kids play for keeps, well I think thats great but it was a sure hard for us kids to accuire more marbles , lol, besides dont you play a game called circles where two player place a few marbles each and try and knock as many marbles out in order to keep them? (well you know where im going with that), by the time I got to high school (secondary college) I had lost interest in collecting marbles but by then I had accuired many marbles while in primary school that by 25 I had given them all away to friends kids, DoH! (i wish i had'nt now) so here I am at 45 and all the way from down under and on most marble forums "aka" Flicker, you marble folk are just great and I am proud to be part of the wonderfull world of marbling.

Hey all,
My name is Brad, aka Schmoozer. I am an energy engineer in the great Pacific NW and just started my own business working from home.
I got the collecting bug from my grandparents who never threw away anything, and lived into their late 80's. I did coins for 10 years before they went bye bye with my ex. Then I got into knives and straight razors, and eventually back into coins. The marble bug hit me when my wife's stepmom passed in 2001 and left a little bag of marbles. The coolest were the Vacors...
We hit antique stores like some people go to the grocery store, at least twice a week. Collecting knives, coins, marbles, razors, AKRO glassware, and old Blenko just about guarantees we'll find something at every store!
We finally hit a point where my wife said nothing comes in unless something goes out, so I decided to start selling the knives and razors.

I love the hunt and have a good cross section of all types and makers. My storage method leaves a lot to be desired but I am working on it this winter.

It is good to see a lot of familiar names from LOM...I look forward to my continuing education here!!

Hello to all
I am catherine, in the state of Montana where there is one book on marbles to be had! In the reference section of the library, none in the bookstores. So happy to have found y'all.
I went to help a friend with her dad's estate and he had a box of old, old, hand-faceted agates. Being a rockhound forever, I was fascinated, and began to look at marbles everywhere. This was 3 months ago! It is tough being so very unknowledgeable about them, but I study everyday.
So, I am a housepainter( can I say the BEST!?> it's true) and I know where to find all the agates and crystals and other gemstones in the Northwest. Now where are those marbles?
It's just me and my dog, osa, she's a cutie, and all these rocks, and now all these marbles.
I am originally from Wisconsin, and may have met some of you at a Badger Auction in janesville recently. Its too cold there tho! LOL. So I'm staying warm here in Big Sk country. Wishing you all many blesings in the coming year! A toast!

Greetings everyone...
My name is Kimber and I've picked up marbles here and there over the past few years, but it wasn't until the last 2 years or so that I got serious about it. I mentioned my interest in marbles to an older gentleman that I work with and he surprised me the next day with a huge container filled with marbles that he kept since his childhood. I decided to do some research to find out what types of marbles they were and figured that I could buy a book and I'd be an expert in no time. Sounds like more than a few of us have traveled down that same road. LOL! The more I got into it, the more I fell in love with these great little critters. Now I am totally hooked on marbles and I am so grateful to the people who take time to help people like me on this and the other boards out there. I collect mostly the machine-mades with an emphasis on MK, Akro & Master but I've also become a fan of the catseyes and contemps. My numero uno mib is a recent acquisition and is rare treasure - 7/8" MK Green Hornet. And no, it is NOT for sale. LOL!

I just joined this forum and look forward to participating in future discussions with all of you. If any of you live in the DFW area and want a marble shopping buddy, please let me know! Smile
